Lunch at Louisa’s

Louisa, a friend of Lettie’s, invited us to a poolside picnic for lunch on July Fourth. We got to have a nice swim and admire her lovely view of farmland.

First, earlier in the day, Lettie and I rode our bikes into town to get the steak for dinner. And wow! The Fourth of July parade was simply astonishing. So Norman Rockwell. Except for the bagpipers:

According to this post on Bill Cary’s gardening blog, it’s called crocosmia. It’s great to attract hummmingbirds. Yes, the farm will be getting one in the spring.
