Sunday at the Farm: Hot Dogs and Hydrangeas

We spent a Sunday around the farm, working on the fields and having a simple supper of hot dogs, corn and a salad with our own lettuce and tomatoes:

We spent the afternoon planting some of our new perennials in the bed where the tree fell back in May. You can see the yellow coreopsis — tickseed — in the foreground. Hunna is now attacking the tree root there so we can plant our beautiful new hydrangea.

It’s rough work:

The coreopsis is planted with angelonia, an annual that Bill Cary recommended and I will be buying every year from now on:

Finally! The new hydrangea.

The variety is called Limelight:

After that, we had our delishy supper.

Nice day at the farm.
