Porchetta from Tarry Market in Port Chester

As a trial run for our Christmas supper, I tried out a piece of porchetta, an Italian roast, which I got at Tarry Market. It was really very good. But so rich we thought it might be a little much for the gang.

It is also meant to be served pink, and I’m not sure how well pink pork would go over, either.

But it’s full of herbs and, well, pork fat, and it’s really great with some roasted potatoes.

And of course, nothing beats a salty dog, no natter what’s on the table for supper.
