Drinks on the Southwest Porch of Bryant Park

Greg, Samantha and I took shelter from a sprinkle under a canopy at the bar called the Southwest Porch at Bryant Park. The park is all decked out for the holidays, complete with an ice-skating rink and a big blue tree.

We think Sam enjoyed her first trip to Manhattan.

More pics, including of a big, cozy fire pit, after the jump.

Waiting for the train:

Train was uneventful.

Srimp in front of the rink.

And in front of the tree:

We wandered around the park, shopping at the booths and people watching for a while. Then it was happy hour, so we headed for the outdoor bar at the south end of the park.

Greg orders a Manhattan and a sauvignon blanc for me:

There are a bunch of  outdoor seats with heat lamps. A good place to steal a kiss!

We were enjoying a seat by the fire:

But then it started raining, so we moved to the canopy under the bar. Sam had her milk cocktail:

It’s a great place for a drink, especially when there’s a bit of a chill in the air.

Fun.
