Cocktails Turn to Dinner at Barcel

We just meant to stop by for a drink. But Samantha was sleeping all snug as a bug in rug, and the new menu just looked so darn good. So after a Manhattan and a martini, well, we ordered dinner. Delicious as always.

One new dish that’s quite good is the duck confit blintzes with chestnuts and dried figs:

Rich, yes. But worth it. Very tasty indeed.

Kevin, the chef, sent out this tuna appetizer. I loved it. Beets and tuna? Who would have thought? But yes, indeed. A winner.

Hunna is happy.

Then we each got a pasta. Hunna got the garganelli with serrano and crabmeat.

So good. I got the fettuccine with pancetta and a poached egg.

Fantastic. I might have to go back for another go at it this week.

And Samantha slept the whole time. Little angel.
