Sunday Night Supper at Wasabi

Finally! The neighbors and I hadn’t really seen each other since the holiday season, and we finally got a chance to catch up. We walked down to Wasabi and had a lovely supper of sushi and other delishy Japanese foods, such as this duck dish:

We started with a little sampler plate — a bento box, if you will:

Clockwise from top left: wakame salad, salmon with yuzu, escolar with soy and tuna millenium. A veritable greatest hits of Wasabi.

Then we had the other greatest hits of Wasabi… the yellowtail jalapeno:

And another helping of escolar, thank you very much:

Live scallop and a special roll of the evening, which had black grapes and tuna:

Very nice.

Yellowtail cheek:

So rich and delicious. It was fried, so it’s crispy on the outside and superflaky and unctous on the inside.

Oyster shooters:

These were nice, but I think I’d rather just have the oysters!

Oh and a little black cod never hurt anybody.

Then we shared the duck from above.

Yes, Sam was sleeping.

Shannon was not sleeping!

Neither were Tasha or me:

Oh. You thought we were getting away without dessert? Not at Wasabi we don’t:

A variety of delishy sweets to end a sweet night.

Good to see the girls again!
