Brunch at Bar DVine

A good Saturday starts with pizza. In this case, it’s a pizza with egg, bacon and French fries, and it’s called “The Hangover Pie.” I was not particularly hungover on this occasion, but Samantha and I enjoyed it nonetheless.

The Hangover Pie is the centerpiece of the brunch at Bar DVine, Joe Printz’s newish restaurant in Sparkill. It is assumed you will acquire the hangover the evening before, when you were enjoying Joe’s excellent cocktails and wine.

For now, the restaurant is quiet, the better to suffer your hangover, I presume.

The aforementioned pizza is packed with flavor, though on this occasion, the crust was not nearly as revelatory as the one we’d shared a couple of weeks before. (Here’s the review.)

I think it was that the oven wasn’t yet as hot as it can get when  it’s cranking out ‘za for a full restaurant at 8 o’clock at night.

Here is another brunch dish, typical but not. Eggs Benedict, but over salmon and crusty bread, rather than a sad slice of ham and a soggy English muffin.

Far, far superior indeed.

As are most things at Bar DVine.
