Fuku Chicken Sandwich

Chicken sandwiches are taking over New York. I wanted to see what the fuss was about. At least at one famous spot.

So after Picassso, Bill, Derek and I headed to Fuku, the casual David Chang spot on 56th Street. (Some longtime SCF fans may recognize the space from our 2010 visit to Ma Peche for the Beef Seven Ways dinner.)

The chicken sandwich was, well, fine.

I loved the spicy sauce, and the flavor of the chicken and breading were nice. But the meat was way tough. Stringy, even. Hey, I get using chicken thighs. I’m all about chicken thighs. But they can’t be so overcooked that you have to pull them apart with your teeth.

The tater tots, though? Perfect.
