Sixty5 on Main

Sixty5 on Main, the newest restaurant in Nyack, could easily have been a disaster. Music venue. Ambitious menu. Enormous space.

All signs point to no.

I’m happy to report, though, that the few drinks and snacks we had at the bar prove a very different scenario. The space was cozy and attractively appointed, the people were friendly and the food was delicious. So instead, it’s a resounding yes!

Here, the Main Street Cauliflower, with apricot tahini sauce, black currants, pistachios and hazelnuts.

Crunchy but soft on the inside, sweet and nutty. Utterly addictive.

And these Short Rib Fritters. Should not even be legal.

Panko encrusted, with homemade BBQ mayo, Moroccan spice. It was like a grownup grilled cheese, philly steak and tagine all rolled up into one.

And now for something completely different. The Scottish Salmon with Asian broth, shitake mushrooms, lemon grass, carrots, ginger, baby bok choy.

Light, fresh, bright, lemony and all topped with fresh, delicious salmon. A real winner.

And last, but not least, we tried 3 sliders.

Chicken, beef and crab. All great, especially, the chicken.

The Manhattan was well made, though Greg’s special cocktail was a little unbalanced. But a minor quibble when everything else was top notch. I’m so thrilled.

We can’t wait to go back!
