A gorgeous Sunday, perfect for brunch at a sidewalk table at the Hudson House. Our little Sam tried her first Shirley Temple.
I got the bloody mary.
I told Samantha the story about when Sarah and I were at the Oak Room at the Waldorf Astoria and were allowed to order Shirley Temples. After the third drink, the waiter said, “Perhaps you would prefer that I just bring the cherries?” We agreed. He brought them.
Sam asked for the same thing.
Samantha had pancakes.
I had shirred eggs with chorizo and spinach. Terrific.
Greg had the salad with grilled chicken. Also super.
And Lexi had the vegetarian sandwich, hold the mushrooms.
