Calder in Motion at the Whitney

An enlightening trip to the Whitney, where,for the first time, I see what Calder had in mind with his mobiles. We’ve only seen them displayed as a still object before. During this exhibit, Calder: Hypermobility, a handler goes around with a stick and jostles them every now and again, so they move.

It’s beautiful.
