Christmas Eve Supper 2011

We had a quiet Christmas Eve this year. Chris is here, and the folks, of course. But Sarah doesn’t arrive until Monday. And of course, Grandmom isn’t here anymore. But we welcome a new family member to the table. Merry Christmas, Samantha.

We started the evening off by walking down to church. It was a brisk evening; the kind where the wind chafes your cheeks just enough to keep them pink, but not so much where you need to draw your lapels closer.

Then we all gathered at the Ranch for Perfect Parallels, Beef Bourguignon and Honey-Spiced Madeleines with Ice Cream. Once again, Sam had milk.

Come see our evening, after the jump.

Chris and I leaving church:

It’s Richard’s last Christmas as our Rector, so the service was a bittersweet. I cried,  somewhat because of that, but mostly because of our little miracle baby, Samantha. I am so grateful.

At the Ranch, we toast the season with Perfect Parallels:

And everyone takes turns feeding Sam.

Even me.

Supper was, of course, beef Bourguignon.

Mom made it  — and she did an amazing job. Completely delicious.

For dessert, we topped the madeleines with ice cream and chocolate sauce.

Merry Christmas!
