Great Chinese at China White in Purchase

What’s this you say? Fancy Chinese? In Westchester? Yes, the folks behind Lolita in Greenwich, which SCF fans may remember from a couple of summers ago, have opened a similarly hip, fun restaurant in Purchase  (of all places) and, as it turns out, the food is very good indeed.

Greg was beyond thrilled with Chef Joe’s Spicy Dragon Chicken, above. He adores Chinese food, when it’s done well. And here, it’s dine very well. Clean favors, organic ingredients, impeccable technique. And all served in a really cool looking dining room, too.

We’re looking at the dining room from out seat in the bar area. Those are enormous paper lanterns hanging from the ceiling. Pretty nice, right?

Cocktails are special, too. This is a little gin number, with mint, and, I believe, Elderflower.

We were beside ourselves to also find steamed buns on the menu. No, they’re not Momofuku steamed buns, but what are? These are very good, though.
We also shared lettuce wraps.
Then I ordered something else you don’t find often around here: Peking Duck.
It came with the most delicate pancakes.
And a lovely side of green onions.
We were really impressed with China White. Dare I say it’s the beset Chinese in Westchester? I wouldn’t be far off.
