Being in Pleasantville for a showing of Casablanca at the Jacob Burns Film Festival, we decided to give the new wine bar, Battonage, a try. It’s a nice alternative to the other restaurants in town, which are either pubs or high-end. This fits the middle ground nicely.
The food isn’t anything worth raving about — it’s perfectly acceptable for what it is, and we would definitely go back. In fact, I’ll say about the same for the wine list. You won’t find anything eccentric or unique. But it works just fine.
Pizza and panino:
The 411 on Battonage: A wine bar and cafe in downtown Pleasantville where the atmosphere is the draw rather than the food. The menu and the wine list work, though, especially for a bite before or after the movies at the Jacob Burns nearby. 10 Marble Ave., Pleasantville. 914-769-4040
