Cocktail Recipe: Negronis

I am a bigger fan of the Negroni than Greg. But that said, we enjoyed a nice version on the porch, made according to David Wondrich, of course. I tried to thank him via Twitter, but alas, did not get a response.

So yes, even though you’ve heard that a Negroni is supposed to be equal parts gin, Campari and sweet vermouth, Wondrich (and we) think otherwise. Up that gin, folks. It won’t taste like cough syrup that way.

Recipe after the jump.

Negronis
6 ounces gin
3 ounces Campari
3 ounces Sweet Vermouth

Combine in a shaker and shake vigorously. Strain into cocktail glasses and garnish with an orange or grapefruit twist.
