Another excellent pre-theater meal at Ippudo Westside. At the table this evening are Boo, Kelli and Boo’s friend Stacia. We shared four apps and two bowls of ramen. All terrific.

Akamaru Modern: A more bold, modern translation of the original “Tonkotsu” (pork) broth; thin noodles topped with Ippudo’s secret “Umami Dama” miso paste, pork chashu, cabbage, sesame kikurage mushrooms, scallions and fragrant garlic oil:
Brilliant! And the evening’s show, Outside Mullingar, was a real treat.
