Pre-Theater at Kung Fu Little Steamed Buns Ramen

And just like that, it’s Broadway season again. For the first play of the fall — Love Letters — Irene and I head to pre-theater dinner at a small little ramen joint called Kung Fu Little Steamed Buns Ramen in Midtown that got a review in the Times this spring: A Showman Puts Noodles on Display.

We had a few hits, a few misses, but all in all a good meal.

A very simple little room.

I quite liked this “House Special Ramen,” which is not at all a soup, but very good nonethless:

Nice layers of spice like cinnamon and star anise:lj092414soupdump29

This “Cold Sesame” ramen was not as complex. I would skip it next time. lj092414soupdump27

This leek bun didn’t to it for us either.lj092414soupdump30

The soup dumplings, though, were fantastic. The clear winner of the night:lj092414soupdump31

Let’s go to the play, Irene!
