bartaco in Port Chester

bartaco is a cute little spot in Port Chester — the first of a chain of taco joints now found up and down the East Coast. They serve expert margaritas and mojitos, and a small menu of “tacos” and “not tacos.”

One of the “not tacos” is the excellent grilled corn, made like it is on the streets of Mexico City, slathered with mayo and topped with cheese and chili powder.

Another of the “not tacos” is a spicy cucumber salad that’s crunchy and addicitve and a very good match for the “tacos.”

Of which we shared many! We have here the Baja fish, the short rib, the pastor and a couple of others, too.

No shots of the interior this time (you can head over to lohud to see that), but suffice to say that the patio, which overlooks the Byram River, was absolutey packed to the gills on this nice day that we visited. And I’m sure it will be again the next time we do. This place is a winner.
