Cocktail Recipe: Hemingway Daiquiri

Hemingway is associated with lots of drinks, including the regular ol’ daiquiri, which is made, as you know, with rum, lime juice and simple syrup. This version adds complexity with maraschino liqueur and grapefruit juice. It’s a nice drink to have in spring, when you can still get great grapefruit from the south. But we also enjoy it in summer when you’re looking for a little more than just a rum gimlet.

Recipe, after the jump.

Hemingway Daiquiri

6 ounces light rum
1 ounce maraschino liqueur
3 ounces lime juice
1 ounce grapefruit juice

Shake well with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a lime.

Makes 2 drinks with handsome dividends.
