Supper at Saint George was a three-birthday celebration: for Greg, Sondra and Leigh. Greg, yes, was born in October, but ever since then we hadn’t had a chance to celebrate. Sondra and Leigh are December babies.
We started with cocktails, of course. Here, the Buffet de la Gare cocktail, named in honor of the restaurant that had been in the Saint George space for about 30 years:
A lovely Sidecar for mom:
Greg and Leigh each had a Dock Street, which I photographed on my first visit to Saint George (Supper at Saint Geroge in Hastings post here.)
Hunna and I shared a platter of oysters. Fresh, cold and briny:
We ordered two of the charctueries this time. This was after a bite of them!
Leigh and Sondra:
The frisee salad. Deconstructed. Delicious!
Escargot. Buttery and garlicky:
A lovely salad with baby herbs, lettuces, beets, goat cheese and pistachios:
Chicken fricassee. Insanely good:
Duck with apples and cauliflower:
So juicy and tender with crispy skin. Buttery sauce, too.
Lamb roast:
Deep and rich.
Trout with fingerlings and greens:
Seriously delicious, all of it.
And a fun birthday celebration.
Happy birthday!
