Gather a bunch of innovative, skilled craftspeople together in a beautiful setting on a stunning fall weekend — and throw in some delicious food and drink to boot, you find yourself with Field + Supply, what was billed as a Modern Makers’ Craft Fair in High Falls.
I’m not going to be able to say it any better than Greg did over on his blog post on Design Notes, the Design Within Reach blog, so I’ll just link over there: A Modern-Design Romance Blooms in Upstate New York.
For our part, we enjoyed browsing: admiring the work, the design, the beauty, even the marketing. (Even the cards and brochures were beautiful; especially these little travel guides from a cool blog called And North.)
And we enjoyed some oysters, too.
She quite liked the briny liquor, but wasn’t a huge fan of the oyster itself. She preferred the crumble we got at the bakery in the next stand over:
We also discovered a new cider: Aaron Burry. It is dry, floral and lovely. We took home a couple of bottles.
Here’s a look at the setting. Funny, it happened to be Greg’s birthday, and because the place seemed so festive, what with the tents and all, Sam was calling it “Daddy’s Birthday Party.” Why not!
A little dancing:
A good time, indeed. Here’s a little more on Field + Supply.
