I’ll let Hunna go into the details on this, but let me share with you our Christmas present to ourselves: A new home theater set-up, complete with AV reciever (Yamaha; purchased this fall); a new Epson projector (purchased on the cheap during a black Friday deal!) and a big screen (8 feet wide!).
We’re under construction at the moment; no, the wires will not be hanging from the ceiling like that, they’ll be hidden inside white or green-painted surface-mounted conduit. Everything is entry-level, for sure — this is not an audiophile’s or videophile’s dream come true — but it’s a huge improvement for us, and lots of fun to boot! Movie watching and football are a whole new game!
And while I had the camera out, I snapped a quick photo of the Christmas mantel, with a couple of new stockings, the nativity scene that Anne and Bob sent us one year, carved from Vetter Stone (the quarry Hunna worked at in Minnesota) and the oceanscape painting Hunna picked up at a tag sale this spring. Good times!
