After a summer of “oh, we should have you guys over for an outdoor movie,” we finally invited the neighborhood friends over for, well, an outdoor movie — for the kids.
The adults stayed busy with gin and tonics on the patio while the kids watched Toy Story 2. Unfortunately, I forgot to snap photos during the party, except of the kids.
We did have an unfortunate bee-sting accident — one of the kids didn’t realize it was a beehive and opened the top!
Thing settled down, though, after a while, and the kids stayed glued to the movie for a good hour and a half!
The party was a lesson learned: we made too much food and made it too hard on ourselves! We did chips and guacamole, baguettes with tomato dip and proscuitto and melon. Neighbors brought food, too — we had way too much! Next time I will make less … we’ll be willing to do it more often!
The tall tables were a big hit, and so was the bar cart: we only offered gin and tonics (and beer and wine in coolers) and all worked well!
Here’s a photo of the morning after!
Photos next time!
