I’ve been covering the food beat in the Lower Hudson Valley for longer than I care to admit, and yet, I’d never been to one of the great late-night spots: Pat’s Hubba Hubba.
Pat’s is known for its chili — its hot, hot chili, so hot you can see the red pepper flakes dotting the ground beef like twinkling red lights on a Christmas tree.
You can get a cup of chili, or get chili cheese fries or a chili dog, or, as I decided this afternoon, a chili cheeseburger.
They serve this watered down Hawaiian punch that was just nasty. Nasty!
But the burger, bad for you as it was, was just the sort of thing I could see partiers craving after a night out on the town.
The menu, on plates:
And the big pot of chili in the window.
No need to go back. But now I know what all the fuss is about.
