We love Maura’s Kitchen, the Peruvian restaurant in Nyack. We hadn’t been in quite a while, either. It was good to be back.
A passionfruit margarita:
The obligatory pisco sour:
This is the first time we’d tried the salmon causa roll. Smoked salmon on top of potato, shaped like sushi. Even though we expected to love it — it sounds like a Peruvian latke! — it wasn’t our favorite of the night.
The empanadas sure were, though. These were vegetarian, with lots of delicious vegetables and melty cheese:
Maura’s famous roast chicken, with Peruvian spices. Served with hand-cut fries and a really good salad. God I love this dish.
Chuafa, a Peruvian Fried Rice with cabbage, red pepper and scallions, topped with egg. We got a combination of chicken and shrimp.
Sam and Dustin:
A bit of yummy flan for dessert.
Good times. We’ll be back — sooner this time!
