One of our favorite restaurants in Rockland is Roost. Chef Kevin Reilly is so very talented — his food bursts with flavor, and is always expertly executed. Tonight’s dinner was no exception.
Longtime SCF fans may remember our many, many visits to Cafe Barcel (this was pre-Samantha, and the restaurant was only 4 blocks away, so it’s understandable how many times we went there). Kevin, the former chef there, opened Roost in Sparkill a few years ago. (More recent fans may remember that we’ve been to Roost a number of times, too!)
I wrote a review for lohud.com (find in here: Restaurants We Love: Roost, Sparkill), so I won’t repeat what I’ve said over there. But I will share these photos.

And say this: It’s really, really fun to sit at the bar. We loved our bartender — and enjoyed chatting with the folks sitting nearby.
Oh and this eggplant parmsan a la minute? Really, really great.
