We’re heading out on what has become an annual trip to Minnesota. We’re looking forward to visiting with family and friends, and celebrating Doris’ 90th — yes 90th! — birthday.
Our travels. How could I not shoot a photo of the Alexander Hamilton Service Area.
Samantha, with backpack.
On the tram from parking.
When we arrived in Minneapolis, we realized we’d packed horribly wrong. Horribly. It was freezing. We had linen tanks and cotton cardiagans. So I asked to be taken to the Mall of America to purchase some closed-toe shoes.
After the target was acquired, we stopped for lunch at Noodles & Co., a chain that’s just making its way to the East Coast, but is pretty well entrenched in the Midwest.
Pad Thai:
Indonesian Peanut Saute:
Spaghetti and meatballs.
Hey, they’re all noodles, right?
Then on the road to Mankato.
Hello, prairie.
Ho, ho, ho, Green Giant:
On the drive from Saint Peter to Mankato, we stop at the stone quarry where Greg used to work.
And then on home to Annie and Bob’s, to relax a bit, make some pizza dough for our Saturday night supper, and order everybody’s favorite pizza, Jake’s.
