I’ve heard tell of the Smokehouse of the Catskills — an old-school, German-style smokehouse and deli in the tradtion of Schaller & Weber — but I’d never visited. When Kristin and I drove past on our way back from Opus 40, I made a detour.
I’m glad I did. Look at these gorgeous eats.
Even different styles of liverwurst.
Head cheese. Blood and tongue.
Divine. Olive loaf.
We even got to know the owners a little bit. If only I’d brought a cooler.
