After a long day on the road working (and a little playing), we celebrated our Destinate accomplishments at the New World Bistro Bar.
But first, a cocktail at Jack’s Oyster House:
Cheers!
Then, off to our dinner at New World. The restaurant is fusion with a capital F. So, I guess, Fusion.
Vietnamese lettuce wraps:
Blackened green beans:
Cajun style.
Four-cheese eggplant “meatballs”:
Brussels sprouts trio (balsamic-roasted, garlic-walnut sauteed and shaved with speck and sage):
A special, a stuffed squash:
Thai BBQ True North Salmon with Massaman, lime, fish sauce, lemon grass, garlic dressing, sprout-peanut slaw, brown rice and greens:
A special pasta:
Meatloaf!
Smoked Gouda-stuffed, bacon-wrapped, maple-glazed meatloaf with smoked hock-bourbon gravy, creamy mashed and Brussels sprouts.
Our Destinate gang!
So, here’s the verdict. A lot of good food, but a lot of misses, too. The entire menu is a mess — so big, and so many choice it’s overwhelming. And that’s sort of a good metaphor for the food. But edit, edit, edit and you would have some great food on your hands.
Rice pudding with tropical fruits:
Ice cream sandwich:
Still busy at nearly 10:30 pm!
