A trip to the Holiday Train Show at the New York Botanical is an annual tradition for many families in New York. It will be, now, for us, too. The show is an incredible work of art — a display of creativity, architecture, engineering.
And if you go early, you will beat the crowds and enjoy it with plenty of elbow room.
Each piece is crafted entirely of plant materials. The Enid A. Haupt Conservatory:
Bark, flowers, sticks, stems — even artichokes.
The former Penn Station. A damn shame what happened to that building.
A couple of selfies!
Kykuit:
Van Cortlandt Manor.
Rockefeller Center. Down to the Christmas tree and angels!
Lots of Hudson Valley gems here. Boscobel:
The Guggenheim, with bark:
The TWA Terminal at JFK!
Complete with airplanes:
And a runway!
Historic New York:
Conservatory, looking up.
Then, a trip around the garden on the tram:
Tulip trees:
Family fun.
What a great show!
