Here’s something I can’t believe actually happened: Our Pyrex dish shattered inside our oven, splintering into glass that littered the oven floor and exploded chicken jus all over the walls and glass.
We were cooking at 450, though the oven had been heated to 500, following this NY Times recipe for Casual Oven-roasted Chicken Thighs.
Horrifying. We are lucky it didn’t happen while we were holding it. We got rid of the rest of our Pyrex, and tried the recipe the next day in a cast iron pan.
Tonight, we had pizza. Delivered.
