What a day! Samantha got up on ice skates for the first time! We headed to Bear Mountain on a very cold and windy day. Turns out, this was best, because it kept the crowds away, and there was plenty of room for Sam to practice.
Lace ’em up, Dad!
Our little skater!
Mom’s skates. Purchased for winters on Copake Lake.
She’s up!
We made it once around the perimeter.
It took about 45 minutes.
But by the time we got 3/4 of the way around, she was doing it!
Good, good, good! Especially for the first time!
Afterwards, a reward at the restaurant. Hot chocolate!
And a bloody mary for mom.
Best fireplace ever.
A super-successful first time skating!
