O Mandarin in Hartsdale

It had been more than a year and a half since I was invited to a fantastic dinner — a tasting menu that introduced chef Eric Gao and the Chinese cuisine he would be preparing at O Mandarin in Hartsdale. Now I am dining in the restaurant. The food is just as delicious as I remember.

Dan Dan Noodles, with beef, peanuts, cilantro and a zingy Sichuan chili oil that tingles the tip of your tongue.

Insanely delicious soup dumplings:

Lambs head meatballs. Juicy and sweet.

Beef short ribs with taro. Meaty and cooked to perfection — falling off the bone.

This is just the beginning of the love affair, to be sure. We’ll be back.

The 411 on O Mandarin.
