Maydan in Washington DC

What a great meal! Diane chose Maydan, a Middle Eastern restaurant with an open hearth in the center, and it was a big hit. Bold flavors, grilled meats, spices, sweets and delicious cocktails, too.

The bar, downstairs by the hearth:

Open wood fire:

Our cocktails:

Halloumi with peanut dukkah and honey:

Carrots with lemon and harissa:

Hummus:

Labneh:

Absolutely fall-off-the-bone tender and delicious wood-roasted chicken with turmeric and coriander, served with toum, a garlic paste.

A lemon pudding for dessert.

What fun we had!

On the way home now:

The 411 on Maydan.
