National Air and Space Museum Annex

The annex to the National Air and Space Museum in Virginia — technically called the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center — is, in this one amateur’s opinion, even better than the original on the mall in DC! The space shuttle discovery is here, as is the Enola Gay. And a ton of other stuff.

The tower:

Looking out at the tower at Dulles.

Space Shuttle Discovery.

It’s enormous.

Oh, so that’s where they put the lost Arc of the Covenant!

We pose with an astronaut costume.

Cool selfie in his helmet.

Here is the Enola Gay.

Concord:

I like this one. Reminds me of the one in Casablanca.

Spirit of Columbia, which was the first plane a woman flew around the world.

Enola Gay again. Very large.

The space shuttle, seen from afar.

A Nazi plane.

They’re setting up for an event. How cool!

An excellent time. Highly recommend a visit.
