In Camden, we didn’t do much shopping, probably because of the bikes. But we did poke around a bunch of places, and sat in the park to admire the view.
There are big effin yachts in Camden:
Here’s some of the downtown:
Cousin T told us to check out this little grocery:
Some downtown photos:
Greg feels like a post-lunch coffee:
Funny sign:
Next door to the coffee shop, we saw this sign. Long Grain looks promising!
Some obligatory New England steeple shots:
Walking back toward downtown, Zoot coffee in hand:
This would have been better if I’d had the guts to get closer and frame it properly:

We stopped in a little map store that also had nautical items:
By this time Greg was calling me Liz “Penobscot” Johnson. My friends call me Penny.
This cute little ice cream stand looks downright Caribbean. Maybe it’s so all the yachting folks feel at home when they’re so far north:

The clouds are starting to roll in:
We headed up to the Camden Library, which is so beautiful and ingenious, but for some reason I didn’t take any photos of it. The main room is stunning, with light blue walls and old paintings of ships. Then, when they needed to expand, they built under the ground next to the library, and added a little cupola to let light in to the downstairs. Above the expansion is a grass park with great views of the harbor. And that’s where we are now:
Yeah. We’re having fun.
As part of the park, there’s this beautiful little children’s garden:
Check out the benches:
I love books.
After that, we headed back to the car, and got to ride under the Rockport-Camden arch:
Wheee!
Coming up next, a trip to the top of Mount Battie. Stay tuned!
