We headed to Bear Mountain in hopes of ice skating. That didn’t happen — not this time, anyway — but we did enjoy a spin on the carousel and lunch at the cafe.
“No. I won’t be skating today.”
A little piece of advice, should you head to Bear Mountain the day after Christmas one year. When we arrived at 10:30, there was no line to skate. When we left the property at noon, there was a big, big line. Go early!
“Yes, I will be riding the carousel!”
Hello Bobcat!
The carousel is so beautifully renovated. It features animals from the region, like raccoons, squirrels, and, yes, bears.
Big stone fireplace.
A walk over to the Bear Mountain Inn.
And the reward of one AMAZING hot cocoa.
And some chicken fingers, too.
A turkey soup. Really good! (Pretty bowl, too.)
A fun trip. We will go skating. Next time!
