John and Phillipe had perfect weather for their annual Labor Day party. We sipped punch, strolled the garden, played scavenger hunts and had an all-around rollicking time. Cheers, Cathy! (And there’s Eamon behind her!)
For Cathy and Thor’s big splurge meal, we went to Ma Peche — the midtown restaurant of David Chang of Momofuku fame — for Beef Seven Ways, a seven-course dinner with, you guessed it, beef prepared seven different ways.
It sure is fun to have another cook at the farm. Thor whipped up a delishy brekky on Sunday of scrambled eggs with ham, fresh salsa, arugula and tortillas.
While Cathy and Thor met friends in the city, we stayed in and sauteed some scallops and boiled up some sweet corn. What a sweet supper.
