Steak, tomatoes and corn. One of the great summer meals, don’t you think? And we started with lemon-thyme gimlets in the orchards by the pear tree.
The whole family — Grammy & Leighlo, Wilson, Sarah, all the cousins and us — enjoyed a summer meal at the farm. Les Dorkages:
Lobster rolls, corn on the cob and Doris’ Cucumber Salad. Mighty fine Sunday supper. For my lobster salad, I toss lobster with mayo, lemon juice, a bit of salt and tarragon. Or chives, if you must.
Cooking for one this Saturday evening. An all non-local meal of CoHo salmon, corn on the cob from Georgia and potatoes from who-knows-where. The salmon, especially, was a big treat. Just delicious.
We celebrated Grandmom’s birthday with a supper in the orchard: pork, corn and Doris’ cucumber salad. We had a plum cake to finish. An end-of-summer meal if ever there was one.

We had scallops from the Pleasantville Farmers Market once again, so we decided to try out a new recipes from Dorie Greenspan: Scallops with Orange-Caramel Sauce. It’s easy and delicious.
While Cathy and Thor met friends in the city, we stayed in and sauteed some scallops and boiled up some sweet corn. What a sweet supper.
