Lunch for Samantha

After Sam’s christening, we came back to SCF for a small buffet lunch. I’m still learning how to balance being a mom, a hostess and a blogger, so you’ll forgive me that there aren’t many good photos. We’ll get there someday. Meantime, we had a killer pork shoulder thanks to Irene’s great recipe. Thanks Irene!

OK, first, the table. It’s been a while since I’ve set one all fancy-like!

Irene’s potato salad with egg, anchovies and spring blossoms. (Really. So good.)

Asparagus, red onion and fennel with lemon vinaigrette, from mom. Delishy!

Peggy’s perfect pasta salad. Tomatoes, feta.. fantastic.

Delishy Wave Hill bread:

And then the meats. Ham and pork.

So good!

Yeah, so as I said… not many good photos.

Not even one of Samantha in her pretty little linen dress that Peggy got her before she was even born’d. So sad.

But we do have a few cute ones of the guest of honor after every one left. First, Boo and I went for a walk around Rockland Lake.

Boo:

Sam:

At the end of the walk, we saw a boy ride his bike without training wheels for the first time. It was a privilege to watch, and made me love humans, just this once.

Later, Boo gone and Greg at work, Sam and I had a little fun on her tie-dye blankey:

And here’s a little video, too:

And then after she was sleeping, I enjoyed twilight at Sour Cherry Farm.

Happy day.
