Bo Ssam Dinner: Roast Pork with Ginger-Scallion and Chili Sauces

Maybe it was having the Korean chicken the weekend before? But I got some kind of bug, and we decided to have another bo ssam dinner. (The first one was in February, and it was really delicious.)

Two big pork shoulders, lacquered in brown sugar, served  in lettuce wraps with ginger-scallion sauce and chili sauce.

A good time, indeed.

We were ostensibly celebrating Samantha’s brithday with her grandparents and her godparents. But Kelli brought along her mom, who was in town, and Boo was still with us after the storm. (Her heat came back the next day.) It made a nice round number of eight.

A few snaps of the birthday girl and her admirers before she went up to bed:

Bed time for bonzo, pork time for us:

Good times. Everyone enjoyed ice cream with peanuts and chocolate for dessert.

The recipe for Bo Ssam is here: Bo Ssam: Roast Pork in Lettuce Wraps with Korean Chili Sauce and Ginger-Scallion Sauce. Make it. Now.
