The Nyack contingent of the book club met to finish up the discussion of The Glass Menagerie and discuss a short story, “Sonny’s Blues,” by James Baldwin. The centerpiece of the meal was this gorgeous Stuffed Kobocha Squash, prepared by the Burnses and inspired by a recipe from Dorie Greenspan called Pumpkin, Packed with Bread and Cheese.
Book club members also generously brought gifts for Samantha’s first birthday. Pics of that, and the meal, after the jump.
After Samantha went to bed, we discussed the play and the story and dined on a terrific meal prepared by the Burnses: Stuffed Kabocha Squash with a delishy bread stuffing, gooey with Gruyere and pancetta.
