Update on the Garden: Phlox, Butterfly Bush, Hydrangea, Cosmos and More

A check-in with the garden in mid-August. We know we have a lot of work ahead of us, but after last year’s construction site-slash-pit in the backyard, it’s nice to just sit back and enjoy a summer on the patio. Here’s a look.

The red-headed stepchild of my garden beds: the one by the garage. We planted a pear tree there this spring, and there are also coneflowers, bee balm and these fantastic black eyed susans:lj081113filling25
