Why is it that choosing my annuals for the porch and patio pots is always such a conundrum? Every year I fret and waiver: should I get these? Which flowers? What color combinations? I know, I know: #firstworldproblems.
Sam pulls the wagon at Rosedale.
But you would think by now I would just have a container plan in mind and get the same ones every year. But I don’t. I nearly got those red cascadia petunias above. But instead, went back to pink geraniums. I added a little white verbena and purple petunia — the standard size — too:
Sam helped plant:
The same petunias for the hanging baskets:
And back to the geranium-petunia-verbena combo on the porch itself:
In the back, I went for more verbena, but a bright orange-yellow flower, along with some orange cascadia petunias, and a little purple heliotrope for contrast and height. I put lavender in the other pot.
A quick shot of an iris:
And the same little bed with the coreopsis:
And Tasha’s peonies, which are blooming nicely!
A last look at our redwood set before it goes. I must admit, I will miss it a bit. It is so beautiful and sleek.
