Another perfect Tuesday night in summer.
A cucumber cocktail started us off, then we served easy-peasy supper: heated up sloppy Joe’s, procured at Sheppard Mansion’s shop and made from raised-right beef. Blueberry cobbler, too. A good supper indeed.
After our return from Pleasantville, we meandered around the garden, and Jane proceeded to eat nearly every berry we grow!

After supper each evening, we took to the game table. Mostly we played Taboo, which is a whole lot of fun with a whole lot of people. Truly!
Greg smoked ribs and chicken and Wilson prepared a fireworks show. The rest of us enjoyed the fruits of their labors.
Our first night of fun at the cabin. What a joy to have all the family in one place for vacation…. we can’t remember the last time that’s happened.

For our first summer supper in the orchard, we grilled skirt steak Korean-style, and served it with Boston lettuce and plenty of herbs for wrapping. Boo was the farm’s special guest. Yay! Backyard dining is upon us.
