Breakfast in Boston: Eastern Standard

After arriving in Boston on Sunday night, we headed to Jessica and Kelly’s apartment. We meant to have dinner — really! — but ended up snacking and having some of their leftovers. In the morning, while Greg slept, I headed out early for a little walk and breakfast. I ended up at Eastern Standard in Kenmore Square with a very nice cup of cappucino.

The restaurant is a big brassy bistro, but it’s quiet at breakfast:

I had eggs, toast and sausage.

The sausage and potatoes were tasty, but the eggs were overcooked and the toast was lame. It was an enormous portion, too, so I didn’t finish.

Afterward, I walked along Newbury Street and became a bit nostalgic for old times, when I used to visit Boston often.
