Salty Dog season has arrived! Our package of the most delicious grapefruits int the world arrived today, and we immediately set about making our favorite grapefruit cocktails: Salty Dogs.
These are not the same as Greyhounds, which are made just with grapefruit juice and vodka. No, SCF fans will remember from years past that Salty Dogs are made with gin, sweet vermouth, Cointreau and grapefruit juice.
Fresh squeezed Ruby Red grapefruit juice from Red Cooper in the Rio Grande Valley if you can get it.
We enjoyed these particular Salty Dogs with Irene. Greg made sausage, sweet potatoes and kale and we sat by the fire plotting our vegan holiday dinner. I’m telling you, we’re on to something….. just you wait!
