Marcus Samuelsson, the celebrity chef who was once behind Aquavit and now owns Red Rooster in Harlem, among other restaurants, has opened Marcus B&P in Newark. The restaurant is meant to riff off the Swedish concept of BP, or “back pocket.” You can meet your friends at the Bar (B) and pick up some Provisions (P) to take home.
The concept does not prepare you for how delicious the Food (F) is.
Starting with the cornbread. A masterpiece.

It comes with pickled cabbage and honey and is not messing around.
