Except for a quick stop for a light snack one evening after a Broadway show, we hadn’t been to Wasabi in we-can’t-remmber when. Friday night we headed down for sushi and a few other surprises Doug had in store for us.
Coming to the new menu will be this creative take on Caesar salad. The heart of the romaine is feathered out but remains in tact and is lightly dressed with a wasabi-laced Caesar dressing. It’s lovely with the peppery tuna.
An ice cold Kirin was a great pairing.
Doug is still working on this take on Mexican pizza. The flour tortilla could be crispier. And we were so bold as to suggest a little lime zest, too.
Salmon ceviche was light and refreshing. Perfect!
One of our favorite of Doug’s rolls is the tuna-strawberry, and this shareable tuna tartare was a nice take on that. We spooned some into the shrimp chips! Delishy.
Live scallop with yuzu and a creamy wasabi sauce. Lovely.
And a lobster roll to end the night!Another terrific meal at one of our favey restaurants in Nyack.
